Why Pet-Friendly Travel Should Feel Effortless (And How We Make It That Way)
For many travellers, a holiday doesn’t feel complete without their pet by their side. They’re not just bringing an animal along—they’re bringing a member of the family. Well, that’s how we have always felt about our dogs!
The truth is, simply allowing pets isn’t enough anymore. Guests are looking for a place where their pet is genuinely considered, welcomed, and comfortable. That’s exactly the experience we aim to provide.
No Surprises—Just Clear, Honest Pet Policies
One of the biggest frustrations for pet owners is unclear or hidden rules.
From the number of pets allowed to any applicable fees, everything is clearly outlined upfront.
- Under no circumstance is your dog to be left unattended or locked in the villa.
- The villa has polished concrete floors in the kitchen and living room, so we are happy for your dog to be in these areas.
- Dogs are not permitted on the furniture or in the bedrooms.
- Dogs must always be kept within the fenced yard.
- Your dog must be on a lead when walking around the property.
- Always clean up after your dog.
- Suitable for 2 small dogs or 1 large dog.
Designed With Pets in Mind
Not all “pet-friendly” stays are created equal. Some simply tolerate pets—others are built with them in mind.
Our accommodation is thoughtfully set up to make travelling with pets easy. Spacious areas allow room for beds or crates, practical flooring makes clean-up simple, and the fully fenced yard gives your dog freedom to relax safely. It’s the kind of environment where both humans and animals can truly unwind.
The Outdoors Matters Just as Much
When people travel with pets, they’re not just booking a place to stay—they’re choosing a destination their pet will enjoy too.
That’s why proximity to outdoor experiences is so important. Whether it’s nearby walking trails, open green spaces, or just having nature within easy reach transforms a simple getaway into something memorable.
We have great walking trails around the property. We have cattle, horses, and chickens, but there is also the native wildlife to consider so that’s why we ask that you always keep your dog on a lead. Often, it’s the first time your dog will have seen a horse or kangaroo, and you never know how they’ll react. It’s best to keep everyone safe!
It’s not just us here at Valle Laguna that welcome pets. Many of the local cafes, vineyards, and other venues around the Hunter Valley welcome pets! I’d recommend asking when you are making a reservation!
